If you’ve visited our office in recent weeks, you may have noticed our new “Share a Smile” program, which we created to help friends and family experience the Rochester region’s first choice for dental care. But for all of us, sharing a smile goes even further, helping to bring joy to youth near and far.
The team at Elmwood Dental collaborated with the Wegmans School of Nursing at St. John Fisher College to provide toothpaste donations to hundreds of children and adults at the Mbaka Oromo School in Kisumu, Kenya.
Nancy Wilk, NP and her nursing students at St. John Fisher set up a clinic at the school, where they delivered medical care and our donations. With the help of translators, the Fisher team also provided a lesson in the healthy routine of brushing your teeth after sweets.
Many children had never seen a toothbrush or toothpaste before and were so grateful—continuously smiling and saying Asante, or thank you!
The team at EDG was pleased to help such a wonderful cause!
