Son of a retired Foreign Service diplomat, educated at English schools, living in Iran, Italy, Spain and Argentina, until he attended undergraduate studies at Georgetown in Washington, D.C. and then went on to dental school at University of Maryland at Baltimore. Dr. Lehfeldt completed a general practice residency at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Washington, D.C., and then joined a Maryland practice as an associate dentist for 3 years.
"Dr. Chris" as he is called at Elmwood Dental, fell in love with Rochester and its snowy winters on a visit to friends, and joined Elmwood Dental Group in 1991, helping our patients with all their family dental needs. His fluency in American Sign Language removes the barrier to communication with many patients who are deaf and hard of hearing.
Dr. Chris keeps on top of the newest techniques and information in dentistry, having attained 1,000+ continuing education hours.
In the summer, Dr. Chris enjoys hiking and camping in the Adirondacks and Catskills. He is working on completing the Northville Lake Placid Trail after completing the Devil’s Path in sections, having had climbed all 4000+ foot peaks in the Northeastern states of the United States. When not hiking, he can be found reading biographies and mystery novels.
"It is both a privilege and a singular honor to be chosen as your dentist for you and your family members. I feel we are all family together as we celebrate your 6 month recall and recare appointments, and catch up on where we left off on your news, accomplishments and achievements from the last time we saw you! Doubly an honor when you entrust us with your grandchildren's dental care! We seek the best in dental techniques, dental treatment, dental materials to maintain optimal oral health."
