Raised on this tradition of excellence, brothers Dr. Frank and Dr. James LaMar joined their father in practice in 1992 and 1991respectively, making it a true family practice. Today, our caring and knowledgeable team of doctors, hygienists, and staff carry on this legacy of excellence by seeking out the most current continuing education training, employing the finest bio-materials, and the latest technology to meet and exceed the needs of our patients and their families. As it was in 1977, we are NOT a fast paced, insurance driven practice. We take the time necessary to reach the optimal result desired for each unique individual. In 2005, Elmwood Dental Group, located at S. 1950 Clinton Ave., acquired a separate but attached office location at 1960 Clinton Ave., creating a unique, private space for Elmwood Dental Group's innovative and nationally recognized implant and restorative specialty practice. Here, prosthodontists Dr. Frank LaMar and Dr. Julian Kahn work closely with Dr. Jim LaMar to perform comprehensive implant and restorative dentistry of the highest order, most famously, the invention and implementation of now nationally recognized and widely adopted HYBRIDGE dental implant system. In fact, some of the most experienced and respected implant and prosthetic dentists throughout the United States now travel to Rochester, NY to train with us here at Elmwood Dental Group's Implant and Restoration Center.

Dr. Frank LaMar is proud to be considered Rochester’s first choice for providing simple, lifechanging solutions to those patients who are struggling with complex dental problems. You will be greeted in a warm and inviting environment by one of our accommodating front desk staff and enjoy a brief wait in our relaxed and comfortable waiting room before being introduced to Dr. Frank LaMar. After discussing your dental history, hopes and goals, Dr. LaMar will conduct a thorough exam, including any necessary low radiation x-rays and photographs. Making your treatment goals his primary focus, Dr. LaMar will then review with you his findings, recommendations, and all available options in the state of the art consultation room, designed to facilitate your complete understanding of those options. Dr. LaMar encourages your involvement in this process and will answer any and all questions you might have. Dr. LaMar does not believe in “selling” treatment, and for that reason we strive to create an open-ended dialogue, without pressure to make important decisions regarding your healthcare. Once a course of treatment has been reached, Dr. LaMar will coordinate and oversee your treatment, typically in conjunction with his brother and leading implantologist, Dr. James LaMar, and colleague, fellow prosthodontic specialist, Dr. Julian Kahn.

A comfortable and private consultation room boasts advanced multi-media capabilities specially designed by Dr. Frank LaMar to enhance communication and improve patients' ability to understand otherwise confusing dental problems and treatment options. We employ the lowest radiation digital radiology equipment available as well as digital record keeping, high-definition intra-oral cameras, E4D digital impression system and a state-of-the-art sterilization center to ensure your peace of mind that you are receiving not only the best treatment, but that it is in the cleanest, safest, most sterile environment possible.
Our state-of-the-art in-house CT scan allows us to provide the most convenient and efficient treatment possible to our patients, as well as ensuring the most predictable, worry free results for our implant patients.
Behind the scenes, knowledgeable lab technicians work in our state-of-the-art in-house dental lab as well as one additional mini lab, providing us the ability to communicate seamlessly between you the patient and our laboratory. Additionally, a recently renovated conference and lecture room has provided a meeting place where doctors from thru-out the U.S. meet to learn and train in the some of the latest techniques and technologies utilized here at Elmwood Dental Group!
